Overview:
The Cambridge A-Level program, recognized internationally for students aged 16-19, is provided by Cambridge Assessment International Education, affiliated with the University of Cambridge. It is designed to equip students with skills essential for university studies and is highly esteemed by institutions worldwide.
Offering a broad spectrum of over 55 subjects, the program allows students to tailor their studies to their interests. Common choices include Mathematics, English Literature, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Economics, and Business Studies. The A-Level structure is split into AS (Advanced Subsidiary) and A2 levels, typically covered across two years, though both can be completed within the same year if preferred.
Evaluations are generally conducted through written exams, though some subjects, like art and music, incorporate practical assessments or coursework. Exams take place biannually, in May/June and October/November. A-Levels are not only highly regarded by universities, often as a requirement for specific degree programs, but also by employers who value the analytical and critical thinking skills cultivated through the curriculum.
